A home page design for Zahra, a private wellness retreat on the Oman coast. The first screen is a villa at dusk under one large headline.
Task
A retreat sells a state of mind, and a list of services does not give it. Visitors compare wellness places by photos that all look alike, so the choice falls to price.
The page had to make the place felt in the first screen and still lead to a booking.
Solution
The first screen is a single photograph of the villa with the pool and the sea, so the place sells itself. One headline, one main button to explore the villas and a second one to watch the video.
Below it, four short reasons to stay: wellness and spa, nature, private villas and local cuisine, each with a line of text, so a visitor learns what the stay contains in a few seconds.
What was hard
Text over a photograph has to stay readable while the picture stays dark and warm.
A wellness page can easily turn into a catalogue of services and lose the calm of the first screen.
How we solved it
The headline sits on the quiet, darker side of the photo, and the buttons keep one gold accent against the dusk tones.
Only four reasons are shown, each in one short line, so the first screens stay quiet and the details can wait for the villa pages.
